Commissioned by MUCIV – Museo delle Civiltà, Rome; curated by Matteo Lucchetti
The artist was invited to be a Research Fellow at MUCIV in Rome. The intervention, “Non sono d’accordo / I Don’t Agree”, is one of the results of the fellowship, along with commissioned interviews with activists such as Jera Guarani, Shirley Djukurna Krenak, Ampam Karakras Ipiak, Sandra Benites, Ke´y Rusú Katupyry and Verá Poty, Tonico Benites, Julieta Paredes, and Xindu Poyanawa. The artist also proposed the exhibition (and now acquisition) of art works by Indigenous artists to engage the museum and visitors in a contemporary discourse of realities of Indigenous communities today.
“Non sono d’accordo / I Don’t Agree”, are a series of stickers that were applied on information panels and vitrines that the artists believes to be problematic in the Meso and South American collection of MUCIV.
