Site specific video installation with five single channel video works
Commissioned by Morra Greco Foundation, Naples
The Morra Greco Foundation in Naples is housed in the Palazzo Caracciola di Avellino which is from the 16th century. Throughout the centuries the tufo stones of the palazzo have only heard, and had incorporated into their being, European music. Alves invited musicians living in Naples but originally from abroad to play music in these rooms. The music from these immigrants allows a new stratum of being and history to be fused into the stones and welcomes the possibility of variated strata.
A video was projected onto the frescoed walls of each room of the first floor of the Morra Greco Foundation.
