Light on photographic paper
each approx. 142x119 cm
Crossing pools of light that spilled from curtained windows and flowed from homes onto streets drew one into possibilities in the Dutch town where Alves was an artist in residence. She wanted to keep some of this light. With a black plastic bag which protected large sheets of unexposed photographic paper, she walked to these light-pools and opened the bag under a window to document the amount of light (by exposing the light-sensitive pager) that streamed onto the street. Windowlight is a document of the possibilities of urban unpredictability.
